The Eastern Cape Karate Association hosted their first Championship for 2025 on 1 February 2025 in Gqeberha.

Introduction:
We are pleased to report that the sports event held over the past weekend was a resounding success. The planning and execution was seamless, contributing to a memorable experience for all participants and spectators.
Event Overview:
The event took place at the Fairview Sports Centre in Gqeberha. The atmosphere was vibrant, with participants from various regions showcasing exceptional skill and sportsmanship.

Highlights:
- Awards: Athletes who represented Eastern Cape Karate at National level (Karate South Africa) were awarded with their Eastern Cape Karate Colours. Congratulations to the following karateka: Darian Kramer, Ryne Marandu, Adré Weideman, Arden Harris, Nathan du Preez, Yuané Gerber, Luchay Weideman, Neo Cornelius, Gail Weideman, Lemuel Kramer, Kaylee du Preez, Kezia Abersalie and Galliano Boni!


- Participation: Competitors representing a diverse range of talents and backgrounds were in attendance. The competitors were highly engaging and maintained a healthy competitive spirit.
- Organisation: Thanks to the diligent efforts of our organising committee, all logistics were handled efficiently. There were no major disruptions, and the schedule was strictly adhered to.
- Audience Engagement: Spectators were enthusiastic, and their support added to the energy of the event. A Family-friendly activity, where karateka could win prizes, ensured that people of all ages had an enjoyable experience.
- Safety and Security: Safety measures were in place, ensuring the well-being of participants and attendees. Feedback regarding security arrangements was overwhelmingly positive.

Feedback and Observations:
Feedback from participants and attendees has been positive, with many appreciating the opportunity that was created for the athletes to compete. Many expressed eagerness to participate in future events.
